Marcia earned her Bachelor's degree in Community Ministry after working most of her adult life in clerical and administrative assistant positions. In 2015, Marcia earned her Master’s in Pastoral Studies. "I consider my work as a Memory Care Coordinator to be a ministry. I always enjoy when the residents are engaged in an activity – especially as a group. Some of the more popular games seem to be the “dice and coins” game, word games and singalongs." Marcia and her husband reside in the East suburbs of Pittsburgh and enjoy playing board games and travel. However, because Marcia considers herself a life-long learner, she says it's not unusual to find her also enrolled in some type of course or free online training.

Jose comes to Schenley Gardens with over 31 years of experience in building services and management. Jose has done it all. He's been a business owner, electrician, and even taken plumbing courses over the years. It wasn't until 2010 when Jose began managing a senior living community in Oakmont that he found his true calling for working with seniors. "That is where I knew that working for seniors is what I wanted to do. I had great experiences working in other industries but knew when I got the chance to work for seniors again that I would never leave."
In his free time, Jose enjoys life to the fullest by taking in the local wildlife and fishing. His favorite part of working as the Building Services Manager is that it brings a new challenge each day. "The community offers beautiful scenery off the back terrace. Many times, I imagine how beautiful this building was when it was first built."
Jose was recently awarded the "Above and Beyond Award" for outstanding services rendered to residents and staff members alike. Jose expressed his thoughts upon receiving the award stating, "Wow, I really am honored to be selected, but our residents deserve good services."
